RE: $1000 off 4300i cummins (robins) at cosco
I just ordered one! I'm hoping I can adapt the Honda remote control to it.
Weight doesn't mean anything to me as I have a geeky Hydraulic Lift Gate.:B
You can order a remote starter for the generator HERE
RE: $1000 off 4300i cummins (robins) at cosco
ernestfortier, 163 pounds is heavy, but so is the 140 pound 3000 watt yamaha and honda, so the extra weight may be worth 25% more power.
ol Bombero-JC, it does have electric start.
smkettner, I also would take two Honda's over it for camping, but there are a few that would pefer a little more power, and just take a look at what wise and others sells the same generator for, that is the reason I posted the sale, it may be what others are looking for.
RE: $1000 off 4300i cummins (robins) at cosco
Try here instead.
But 62Db isn't very quiet!
62db's is at full load, at idle it is 49db's. the honda EU2000 range is 53dbs at idle and 59db's at full load. The generator will put out around 1000 watts at idle, and a eu2000 would be 600 watts away from it;s rated output, and getting closer to the 59db's than it's idle level of 53db's, and I think Robins is a respected name like honda and yamaha, just not as popular.

RE: Why won't generator run this air unit?
Make sure the trailer has a fully charged battery when trying to run the air, your built in charger could be useing up to 1000 watts of your generators output to bring the battery back up.
RE: Cosco inverter generator sale.
charlan, it looks like you posted the Canadian prices, which are a little more than the U.S. prices which is $699 for the 1700i, $1599 for the 3200i, and $1999 for the 4300i. But the prices you listed must only be around 60% of what big red and blue sell for up in Canada.
Cosco inverter generator sale.
Onan generators made by Robins have a good reputation on the forum, are on sale at cosco, the prices shown include shipping and are a little less than other name brand generators, but may be a lot less to our Canadian friends up north.
For some reason I can not put a link to the site, just go to the cosco site and take a look.
RE: lawn mower engine help.
Might have sheared the shear pin and now is out of time.
this is my guess as well. Don't take much to do it. Did you hit a rock, or stump? Maybe run over the dog? How about Cat:B
Any way it is an easy fix, at the shop.
I have hit a rock in the past, but not while mowing this time, it just stopped, It is a craftsman from kmart, and I Paid around $150 for it, do you pay to fix a lawn mower that is just over a year old, or just toss and replace?
RE: lawn mower engine help.
I removed the spark plug and it has real good spark, and the guy at work said that it is most likely fireing at the wrong time, and the magnito must be out of aline, It started up good when last useing it and was running normal until it stopped after less than 1/3 was finished on my small lawn. in the 100 or so pulls while messing with it I only got about 3 small backfires.
lawn mower engine help.
Lawn mower wont start, fairly new on second summer. I get spark, but thought gas may be bad. disconnected fuel line and drained the gas and emptied the fuel bowl, with fuel line still disconnected sprayed starting fluid strait into the card with filter removed and still would not fire after nearly 100 pulls, someone at work suggested removeing the pull start to see if the magnito (may be spelled wrong) was lose and not lined up, does this make sense, any other tips.
Thanks, Mike R.
RE: Good Generator for money
Hey what is wrong with YELLOW? My Kipor is not that much loader than the Honda.
My Kipor is just a hair louder than the honda, unless your talking about a couple 2000 watt honda's running in parallel, then the honda's are louder.
RE: is this worth buying for my honda 2000?
I have one, and on the back it says it is rated for 15 amps, and your honda has 20 amp outlets, so I would find a adaptor rated for 20 amps with the 20 amp male end.
RE: Honda Generaters
I have a question for the Yamaha 2400 owners. I can't tell from the pictures, but it looks like it is only a 20amp plug on the generator. Is there a 30amp plug and I just don't see it?
Thank you in advance.
Sorry for steering off topic.
Yep, it's a duplex 20A outlet. RV shops sell an adapter that connects to both side of the duplex, and presents a female 30A pattern receptacle.
I bought one off the internet, it was orange and the back it said rated for 15 amps. If I new that, I would have bought the single plug adaptor from camping world rated for 20 amps.
RE: Airstreams?
I have a Bigfoot and a friend has an Airsteam Bambi, both trucks are the same , when we refuel while on the road, he will use about 2 qts less fuel than I will use on a 200 mile tow.He paid 10k more for the Bambi than I paid for my Bigfoot.
Doesn't the bigfoot also have semi rounded corners? I think I would also rather be caught in a hail storm with a bigfoot, I have seen a few new airstreams being sold at a discount after it was pelted by hail, sometimes only one side dinged up.
RE: generators
Okay, but who has hard info on gas consumption? I mean, side-by-side?
My first impression of the "C" 3500 was that it really slurped gas. As a ballpark, it ran 14 hours on a light load (500 watts), 4 gallon tank of gas.
But when I looked closer, I saw that it would run almost as long with a much heavier load--like 2000 watts for 10 hours. I figured this was due to the far less sophisticated circuitry of the "C"--it's running at a constant RPM.
But I wouldn't typically run my generator on a light load for 12 hours. More likely, it would be a heavier load for a much shorter time frame, like firing up a battery bank.
I'd like to see how the Honda 3000 (or paralleled 2000s) do for gas consumption under load. I know we've all gone around and around on the noise level issue "under load", but maybe there are more hard facts regarding gas consumption. As rightly pointed out, a $2,000 generator isn't more expensive if it saves you $2,000 in gas (I don't think it does).
When do you run a generator at heavy loads with a rv? a couple of minutes with the microwave, 50% of the time when running the air, since it will cycle on and off, with gas prices going up, a inverter generator may not cost anymore if you use it alot. When I lose power at home my generator is on a light load except when the fridge cycles every hour or so, with a couple of lights and tv it doesn't even come off idle, I put a 2 gallon can of gas in my empty generator and ran it for almost 12 hours, if you use a generator alot 52 weeks a year, and save 4 gallon a week, in a year you would save $1600 at $4 a gallon. Both the honda and yamaha, and my kipor will get around 8 hours run time at rated load at around 3 1/2 gallons, but most dont run at rated loads for long periods of time.
RE: Iron Man
We went to the movies yesterday. We saw Iron Man, and I highly recommend it. It's going to be blockbuster, it's an exciting/high-quality movie........IMO.
I heard on the radio that people were leaving when the credits were starting, and missed a big surprise in the movie about that time? reporter said he was told about it before hand, is this true?
There is a surprise ending.
RE: How to spend your rebate check
Well Im not trying to be out of line but someone here said they make in the 100K yr range and you call yourself POOR. If my income remains the same. It will take me 3 years to equal your 1 yr salary. Is it fair that I should pay MORE than you on taxes? Im a very big fan of FEES anymore. If you use it the most. It should cost you the most. You make more money, you should pay more taxes.
**Now you make 3 times the money I make, but we will be getting back the same amount of refund ? HMMMM!!
OH and BY-THE-WAY my rebate will be spent on rebuilding my DDs engine (I dont make enough to afford a new car payment)Not a pleasure rebuild either. 150,000k, spun rod bearing, and cracked block. It will cost more than my rebate. So I guess my REBATE will really go to MASTERCARD!! Is that American money?
I said me and my wife made in the $100K range together but never said we were poor, I do know it would be very hard to make ends meet at 1/3 the income we have now, we drive old cars that are paid for, and I ride a motorcycle to save on gas when weather permits. You said I make 3 times the money you make and we will be getting the same amount as you back, I never complained about this, but it sounds like you are complaining that I paid 3 times as much in taxes and I'm getting as much as you back, my wife left a full time good paying job to become a teacher, she has been subing for going on three years now at half the pay she was offered to stay at her old job, which she still works 10 to 15 hours after subing everyday, so me working full time and grabbing every bit of overtime I can get, and her working a full time job and a part time job keeps us from being poor, but were not rich, maybe lower middle class.
RE: Kentucky Derby
There are thousands of horses put down from racing injuries, we only hear about the few that are in televised races, it's sad for all of them.
RE: Ebay generator
The one from the Amazon seller, $750, is covered somewhat by Amazon's warranty. The one from the eBay seller is "All sales are final with no refund."
I know of no way a generator that light can put out 3kW...buy it, connect two 1500w electric heaters, and see if it'll run for a half hour or whatever time period they claim it'll run at the max load. I don't think it'll run for a half minute. It sure seems like fsdds described it...a disappointing throwaway unit.
Will a Yamaha EF2800i at 64 pounds run at 2800 watts for a half a minute. I do agree that the seller does not seem to back them, but seems to have good feedback from his generators, without anyone claiming less power than advertized.
